Luis Antonio Gálvez-Alcántara, a native of Lima, Peru, is a founding member and the executive director of the North Shore Opera Hour. His performances include; Alfredo in La Traviata, Don Jose in Carmen, Rodolfo in La Boheme, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Mozart’s C-Minor Mass, Bach’s Cantata 66, Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ, and Schubert’s Intende Voci Orationis. He has received the most distinguished award offered by the Association of Peruvian Institutions in the U.S. and Canada for his excellence and commitment to the Peruvian community as a valuable contributor to promoting cultural diversity. He is currently on the faculties of Chicago College of Performing Arts Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University and Sherwood Conservatory of Music.

Kristina Pappademos, native of Moline, teaches voice at The Musical Offering in Evanston, Illinois. Her most recent solo performances include Mozart's Requiem and The Pirates of Penzance with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. She was a founding member of Intimate Opera of Chicago, where she sang the roles of Carmen, Suzuki, and Orlofsky. She has appeared with Highland Park Opera, Chicago Symphony Chorus and currently sings with Grant Park Symphony Chorus. In 1995 she was awarded the Margaret Hillis Scholarship for voice and in 2003 she toured the east coast and the Netherlands with Beppie Blankert's contemporary dance company singing the music of Louis Andriessen.

Cynthia Zimmerman, soprano, was born and raised in Southeast Asia. She received an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology from Baldwin-Wallace College, and undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music-Voice Performance from The American University and Northwestern University respectfully. She received additional training at the Crittenden Opera Workshop in Washington, D.C., and Boston, MA. In addition to music, she has trained in improvisation at Chicago’s I.O. and performed in their shows, The Lottery and The Lustful Postman. Cynthia has been a featured soloist with the Pan-America Orchestra and Eldebrook Concert Series in Washington, D.C., Lebanon Choral Arts Society in Pennsylvania, and at Tunghai University in Taiwan. She performs regularly in the Chicago area and has held roles with Light Opera Works, Da Corneto Opera Ensemble, Chicago Humanities Festival, Park Ridge Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Savoy-aires, N.O.V.A. Opera Tours, Candle Opera, in addition to being a featured soloist for the Camerata Singers of Lake Forest and the Taste of Peru Trio.

American tenor Roy Cornelius Smith is fast becoming known for his voice of great natural beauty, his compelling dramatic interpretations, and his fine musicianship. He has already been heard on some of the world's great operatic stages including the Metropolitan Opera, Salzburger Festspiele, Volksoper Wien, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the New Israeli Opera. He has also appeared with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice, Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal and with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. Roy Cornelius Smith's 2010-11 season includes his debut in the title role of Andrea Chenierwith Nashville Opera, and a return to Lyric Opera of Chicago as Dick Johnson in La fanciulla del West. He also returns to Deutsche Oper Berlin to reprise his acclaimed performances of Calaf in Turandot, and sings Braunfels' Te Deum at the Concertgebouw. In summer of 2011 he sings as soloist in Madison Opera's "Opera in the Park" series. In the 2009-10 season Mr. Smith returned to Deutsche Oper Berlin to sing Calaf in Turandot, made his debut with New York City Opera as Haman in Esther, sang Radames in Aidawith Opera Birmingham, Erik in Der fliegende Holländerwith New Orleans Opera, Pollione in Normaat the Chautauqua Institution, and appeared as featured soloist in a holiday concert with Signature Symphony. |
